SUMMARY:PPATEC Advanced Hydronics
DESCRIPTION:Anyone can put together a bunch of parts and call it a hydronic heating system. But are those parts and pieces selected properly and being used as they were intended? In this session\, we will review the decision process\, the design process\, and the parameters that need to be met. We will cover but not limit ourselves to: \n•   Types of heat transfer and emitters \n•   Hydronic system components\, what goes where and why \n•   You’ve got to “Do the Math” \n•   Boiler size \n•   Pipe size \n•   Circulators and more \n•   Review the different ways for near boiler piping \n•   And controls \nRegistration fees includes: Catered lunch \nOur Instructor: \nDave Holdorf has been in the hydronic industry for 25 years\, specifically in the radiant heating side of the business for the better part of his career. Starting out in the technical support/design role\, he then took over as Engineering Manager overseeing the Technical Support and Design Department. Later\, he took a position as a Field Technician supporting training\, designing\, installing and troubleshooting. For the last 10 years and presently\, he is the Residential Trainer/Rep Training Manager\, Eastern Region for Taco Comfort Solutions. While in his current role for Taco\, he was presented with the “Dan Holohan Instructor of the Year” award in 2020. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Item Name\nExpires\nPricing\n\n\n\n\nMember Price – Discounted price is for PPA members and PPATEC members.\nAug 06\, 2024\n\n\n$200.00\n\n\n\nNon-Member Ticket – Full ticket price is for non PPA or PPATEC members\nAug 06\, 2024\n\n\n$250.00

SUMMARY:PPATEC A2L Refrigerant Training & Certification
DESCRIPTION:The HVACR industry is transitioning away from equipment that uses R-410A in favor of new equipment with Low GWP Refrigerants such as R-32 and R-454B. Our trainers will teach you to properly handle\, store and transport Low GWP Refrigerants. Test results are mailed to ESCO Institute and graded solely by ESCO. \nDid you know? \n·These are classified as A2L refrigerants\, or mildly flammable by ASHRAE? \n·That most systems will have refrigerant detection systems on board that can shut a system down in the event of a leak? \n·How you store and transport refrigerant cylinders will change? \nLunch is provided for attendees at no additional cost. \nThe Instructor: \nMike Elmer has been in the HVAC and plumbing industry since 2002 and has worked for leading contractors in the South Central PA region. His background includes service HVAC\, plumbing\, and electric. Mike currently works in the field as a lead troubleshooting service technician. \nClick Here to Register!
