SUMMARY:PPA TEC Mandatory HazMat Training 172.704 (previously HM-126F)
DESCRIPTION:Includes 49 CFR Parts 172 and 177 & CSA (Compliance\, Safety and Accountability) Training \n49 CFR Parts 172.704 states a HazMat employee shall receive certified training required by these subparts at least once every three years. All intrastate and interstate motor carriers transporting hazardous materials\, in quantities requiring the display of placards\, are required to obtain and display a US DOT number beginning May 1\, 2010. These carriers are also subject to the Compliance\, Safety\, and Accountability (CSA) program. \nThe HM-126F Certification \nNote: This class was previously labeled HM-126F Certification & HazMat CSA Training \nThe Department of Transportation (DOT) requires hazardous material training under 49 CFR 172.704. This requirement applies to any company who transports gasoline\, diesel\, heating oil\, and and/or propane. ALL PERSONNEL handling these hazardous materials\, including those preparing shipping papers\, marking\, labeling\, and packaging.  Commercial vehicle drivers and mechanics who work on hazardous material packages must also receive training. Training includes general awareness\, function-specific training\, safety\, security awareness\, and in-depth security training. Certification of the training is essential for all employees who handle hazardous materials in order to avoid potential civil and criminal violations for non-compliance. \nCLICK HERE to view U.S. Department of Transportation frequently asked questions. \nFrequency of HazMat Training 172.704  \nInitial training of new hazmat employees\, or an employee who changes job functions\, must be completed within 90 days of employment or change in job function. Recurrent training is required at least once every three years. The three-year period begins on the actual date of training. \nMandatory HazMat Training will follow the requirements as outlined in 172.704 which includes: \n\nPhase I: General Awareness\nPhase II: Function Specific\nPhase III: Safety\nPhase IV: Security Awareness\n\nWho Must Be Trained \nA “HazMat Employee” is defined as a person who is employed on a temporary\, part-time or full-time basis by a HazMat Employer\, or is self-employed and in the course of employment\, directly affects the safe transportation of hazardous materials. It includes someone who loads\, unloads or handles hazardous materials; fabricates\, inspects\, marks\, maintains\, reconditions\, repairs or tests or otherwise represents containers\, drums or packaging as qualified for use in transportation of hazardous materials; prepares hazardous materials for shipment; is responsible for the safety of transporting hazardous materials; or operates a vehicle used to transport hazardous materials. \nRegistration fees include the following complimentary items: \n\nLunch will be provided at conclusion of class.\nCertificates will be provided by email after confirmation of class attendance.\n\nOur Instructor: Norm Anger spent over three decades as a State Trooper including 25 years as a Sergeant assigned to the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit. His primary areas of focus included directing officers engaged in roadside inspections\, commercial vehicle accidents\, and HazMat incident investigations. Norm also served as an Associate Staff Lead Instructor for the National Training Center in Washington\, DC\, for 25 years. DESCRIPTION:The HVACR industry is transitioning away from equipment that uses R-410A in favor of new equipment with Low GWP Refrigerants such as R-32 and R-454B. SUMMARY:PPA TEC EPA 608 Certification Prep & Test
DESCRIPTION:Taking the EPA Section 608 certification is a crucial step for anyone who wants to work in the HVAC field. Successfully passing this test gives you a lifelong license. It’s also good across the country – so if you decide to move to another state\, you’re still covered. The program will feature a morning preparation along with an afternoon test. Attendee has the opportunity to attended a future EPA 608 Test if they do not initially pass during the first two test attempts. Scheduling will be contingent on PPATEC instructor and class availability. \nIt is expected that attendees read the manual before attending the class to increase the likelihood of passing the test.
