SUMMARY:PPA TEC Class A/B UST Operator Training
DESCRIPTION:If You Own or Operate Regulated USTs\, You Need This Course! \nThis Underground Storage Tank (UST) Operator Training Course is required for fuel storage tank facilities. The EPA has established new minimum training requirements for designated Class A\, Class B\, and Class C operators to ensure that those who own and operate regulated underground storage tanks understand how to operate and maintain their UST systems properly. \nUST Operator Classes \nFor the purposes of UST operator training requirements\, three classes of operators have been identified: \n\nThe Class A operator is typically the manager in charge of resources and personnel and is responsible for operating and maintaining the regulated UST system.\nThe Class B operator is designated by the owner/operator to have day-to-day responsibility for the regulated UST system.\nThe Class C operator is an individual designated by the owner/operator to be responsible for initially responding to emergencies and typically controls the dispensing or sale of regulated substances.\n\nEach regulated UST facility must have a Class A\, Class B\, and Class C operator designated. All individuals designated as Class A\, B\, or C operators must\, at a minimum\, be trained according to the corresponding criteria. \nAll attendees are asked to bring their FOI (facility operation inspection) to the training. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Item Name\nExpires\nPricing\n\n\n\n\nPPA Member Ticket\nSep 25\, 2025\n\n\n$200.00\n\n\n\nNon-PPA Member Ticket\nSep 25\, 2025\n\n\n$300.00

SUMMARY:PPA TEC CETP 3.1–3.5 Basic Plant Operations
DESCRIPTION:The Basic Plant Operations course provides information\, practices\, and procedures to safely and efficiently perform bulk plant operations tasks\, mainly cylinder inspection\, filling and requalification\, and plant and equipment maintenance. \nWhy this class is unique: \nMost propane marketers regularly invest in CETP training for their field employees. It is common that these employees are trained on basic principles\, delivery\, and vapor system operations. It is less common for employees to receive proper training and certification for propane bulk storage plants. As more companies invest in propane bulk storage plant infrastructure\, there will be more responsibilities for companies to train their teams on these crucial assets. \nThe PPA Propane Committee has partnered with Hiltz Propane Systems to offer a class that will provide crucial training for companies who own and operate propane bulk storage plant facilities. This class will not only include the classroom theory of CETP 3.1 – 3.5 but it will also feature hands-on training access to an onsite custom-built tank by Hiltz Propane Systems. This class is structured to be both a certification class as well as a “train-the-trainer” experience for attendees to go back to their operations and educate their teams on the importance of basic plant operations. \n                            \nThe topics covered are: \n• Main components of a bulk plant. \n• Propane liquid supply system. \n• Inspection and filling of DOT cylinders. \n• Inspection and filling of vehicle mounted ASME tanks. \n• DOT cylinders visual inspection and requalification. \n• Maintaining cylinders and ASME tanks. \n• Unloading cargo tank motor vehicles. \n• Bulk plant systems and equipment maintenance. \nRegistration includes the following: \n• CETP 3.1 – 3.5 Manual \n• CETP 3.1 – 3.5 Exam \n• Skills Assessment \n• Lunch \nInstructor: Gary Nouse\, Director of Field Operations\, Hiltz Propane Systems \nHotel Accommodations \n\nPPATEC is pleased to partner with local hotels that are in close proximity to our primary training venues.
