SUMMARY:PPA TEC HazMat Vehicle Inspection Demonstration
DESCRIPTION:The PPA is excited to partner with FMCSA and Pennsylvania State Police to offer a new educational opportunity to our membership. DESCRIPTION:Taking the EPA Section 608 certification is a crucial step for anyone who wants to work in the HVAC field. Successfully passing this test gives you a lifelong license. It’s also good across the country – so if you decide to move to another state\, you’re still covered. The program will feature a morning preparation along with an afternoon test. Attendee has the opportunity to attended a future EPA 608 Test if they do not initially pass during the first two test attempts. Scheduling will be contingent on PPATEC instructor and class availability. \nIt is expected that attendees read the manual before attending the class to increase the likelihood of passing the test. DESCRIPTION:Primarily focuses on safely and efficiently servicing\, troubleshooting\, and repairing basic propane appliances. For the purpose of this course\, basic propane appliances are defined as simple appliances that do not have advanced controls and complex electronic ignition systems. They may have simple electronic ignition systems\, such as those found in many ranges. SUMMARY:PPA TEC Hands-On HVAC Installation Bootcamp (5 Day)
DESCRIPTION:This 5-day class is designed to teach the basics of installation for a gas furnace and a/c system.  During the class we will cover an installation process to help your technician become familiar with the tasks needed to be completed for a successful on-time installation\, while installing a gas furnace and a/c system in our installation lab. \nTopics included are: \n• Safe removal of existing equipment \n• Proper Tool Use & Care \n• High Voltage Electrical \n• Low Voltage Electrical \n• Gas lines \n• Venting \n• Condensate \n• Ductwork and Air Flow \n• Refrigerant Circuit for A/C and HP \n• Start-Up and Commissioning \nRegistration fees includes: Catered lunch \nTarget Audience: This 40-hour class is designed for individuals who have no or very limited field installation experience. \nOur Instructor: \nDoug Zerbe has been in the HVAC industry since 2003.  On the contractor side of the industry\, he has worked as an installer and service technician before he moved into installation and service management.  Doug also had the opportunity to work in technical support for an HVAC distributor and in sales for an HVAC manufacturer. \nHotel Accommodations \nPPATEC is pleased to partner with local hotels that are in close proximity to our primary training venues.
