PPATEC Training – Basic Electric Theory for HVAC Components

This 40 hour electrical HVAC training class was specifically developed for individuals with no or very limited field experience (less than 12 months). The program will include more time for hands-on training on live-fire equipment and electrical simulators. The class will cover Safety & Hazard Awareness, What is Electricity, Ohm’s Law, Circuits & Components, Conductors, Transformers, 24V Controls, Thermostats, Motors, Motor side of compressors, Motor ratings and name plate definitions, Wiring diagrams, Automated control systems for residential, and Troubleshooting
This intensive program is comprised of hands-on training in our state-of-the-art lab, electrical simulator equipment, and classroom activities and discussion. Upon satisfactory completion of the course, the registrant will have a working knowledge of basic electric theory for HVAC components and be able to apply that in a work environment.

Instructor:
Mike Elmer has been in the HVAC and plumbing industry since 2002 and has worked for leading contractors in the South Central PA region. His background includes service HVAC, plumbing, and electric. Mike currently works in the field as a lead troubleshooting service technician.
